The abstracts of the papers presented at the "Macau and the Maritime Silk Route" conference, which was held on 12-14 March 1999 in Macau, are available in a booklet published by MSLF. The abstracts are a synopsis of the papers in one or two paragraphs and are given in both English and Chinese. The papers themselves were written either in English or in Chinese, but all of the abstracts are available in both languages. The papers cover a broad range of topics including Chinese Maritime Customs and Procedures in the Delta, China and Macau's Maritime Trade and Overseas Chinese, Portuguese influence in China, Christian Missionary Activities in Macau and China, Mazu Worship, Political and Economic Development of Macau and Modernization Aspects, and other topics.
